SOPH WORK -- NEED APPROACH AND ANY WORK DONE ON YOU KNOW WHAT.  SEE GMAIL
"Would like to pay the fees for payments to have one payment to your company"

Video 1 first 3 seconds is lame... need warm welcome, like neil.

VIDEO 1 WORK -- NEED THAT FIRST LINE TO BE

"HI!!!" (Sounding like "I'm sooo happy to see you!!")

Right now it sounds BORING!
!!

Find a video with a warm, inviting, amazing intro and do your own version of it.  Those first 3 seconds need to be better!

Web Design

Web design - so that it fits the slides.  I may need to remake the slides, and if so, I need to design them in such a way so that it fits the website design.

1. I am not so sure about the color scheme on my slides now that echo has so courteously pointed out how lame it is.

2. An all black BG will not look good with this theme.  The point of choosing the theme originally was that it fit the site.

Preferably, I'd rather go with the old theme on the new site.  Just need to think, hey, is this going to work as a theme??  I don't want it to be lame...

Theme Ideas I like:

as

General notes / ideas:

Having a picture BG is a good idea.  It reels people in and adds a degree of professionalism.  Especially if it's a solid insomnia type of theme.

...hours later...

So, couple hours later I've gone back to my first intuition from a year ago when I chose Salient.

I want this style: http://nasfactor.com/themes/dotsquare/html/html/index.html

The reason is, my HOME PAGE CANNOT be a squeeze page!  It can HAVE squeeze pages on the site, just not the main page.

The main page needs to be attractive to potential partners who want to link to my site.  It needs to lead off like a squeeze page (hence, automatically filling the screen with the squeeze), to attract mass opt-ins, but it needs to scroll down to show off blog features, articles, etc.

It needs to show that it's a VALUABLE, AUTHORITATIVE SITE, dedicated to helping across the board with insomnia, not just pushing a single product.

It needs to look professional and like a system or company dedicated to the insomnia market.

So now on to find a professional, smooth, background image.  And since this is a for profit image, I need a public domain image here.

Theme Code:

In the wordpress admin salient/general menu, here's some code you can use to edit the header in various ways that are not part of the standard header menu:

---------------
BG IMAGE IN HEADER:

#header-outer {
   background-image: url("http://howtocureinsomnia.com/wp-content/themes/salient/img/bg2.gif");
   height:43px;}

---------------
MAKE HEADER NON-STICKY:

#header-outer, #header-space {
position: absolute !important;
}

---------------
REMOVE HEADER ENTIRELY:

#header-outer, #header-space {
display:none;}

---------------
REMOVE HEADER FROM XXX PAGE:

.page-id-xxx #header-space , .page-id-645 #header-outer {
display:none;
}
.page-id-xxx #header-secondary-outer {
display: none;
}

---------------
REMOVE FOOTER FROM XXX PAGE:

.page-id-xxx #footer-outer{
display:none;
}

Unfortunately, I can't figure out a nice way to have the header at the top and have it be transparent.  For WHATEVER reason, this is not supported per Salient support.

This is a problem, because that's what I'm hoping for per the theme chosen above.

All I can think of right now is finding a way to put some custom code on the page to make my own custom stuff show near the top.  I think I should be able to get a css code in there or even be able to edit the "header.php" or something to put it in there manually.

Like how naturalcuresforinsomnia.org has this in their Stylesheet (style.css) to do the background at the top:

"body
{
  background:#fff  url(images/bg.gif) repeat-x top left;
  color:#333;
  font-family:Georgia, Verdana, "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
  font-size:72.5%;
  line-height:1.4;
  text-align:left;
  margin:0;
  padding:0;
}"

OR HEADER.PHP (in wp-content/themes/salient).

To demonstrate I have put <p>hi</p> directly after the body tag.
Just gotta keep in mind that this WILL come up in every page.  So I guess I'll probably just toss their header.php COMPLETELY and stick my own in there... lol.

Background Images

Looking for a good kind of sunset image to use as the background.  Need something simple (picture shouldn't look too "normal", it should set up a professional style like the one in the example theme I chose above), professional, and fitting.  Still looking, got kind of a "cool but def won't work" one on there now.

Neil Webinar Notes:

SEO: Traffic is not just higher ranking, it's appealing copy.  Just think if you were searching, what would you click on?
-And better performance = you will rise in the rankings over time per google.
-Google search console

-SEMrush
   :breaks down competitor's traffic sources (keywords on SEO/Adwords)

-What Runs Where
   :BANNER Ads -- scraps ads all over the website and shows you your compitors other ads around the internet.  The more similarities an ad has with other ads, the more likely it's one of the most successful ads in the market.

-Built With
   :All tools and services a website is using

-Ahrefs
    :All sites linking to your competitors, so you can hit those sites to get your links on there (or beg them to put your links on there.)

-Wayback Machine
    :Shows all the web changes a site went through.  Themes that held a while prob did well.

-Open Site Explorer
   :All the ways your site stacks up against the competition.

-Domain Hunter +
   :Shows broken links

-Nutritionsecrets.com
   :shows the health of all your links.

-Similarweb (mentioned by a guy in chat on the webinar)
  :dunno

-Lead Magnets
   :Great way to collect emails

-Buzzsumo
   :Great way to see top performing content in your market
   :Tells you what to write about.

EMAILS to use -- send these to people to get them to let you post content and link back to yours.
Capture3 shows how to get their email if they dont list it (most done)

-capt1 & 2 - std beg
-cap3 & 4 - offering value to get on an emailing basis
-cap5 & 6 - reach out + follow up

If you're doing it right, you should be getting a 5-10% link back rate.  It requires RELEVANT sites, charming email templates to these guys, being conversational, providing value, etc.

---

Importance Of Your ELIST -- It's TRAFFIC:
-over time, this will become a HUGE portion of your website traffic if you email them regularly
-will be your MOST VALUABLE traffic.

---

"Yes" & "No" links
Yes -> leads to content they said yes to
No -> leads to alternative content (what they are second-most-likely to be into)
EX. "yes"-> traffic opt-in page, "no"-> conversion opt-in page

Tripwire = Irresistible offer (i remember perry marshall had something like this)
--NEED TO READ "THE IRRESISTABLE OFFER"
--Opt in or front end product should be IRRESISTABLE
--lots of small sales up front.
--so front of the funnel should be like a $7 quick-guide THAT UPSELLS THE $59 "HOW TO CURE INSOMNIA" SERIES.
