19 Objectives. 12 weeks, 10 Sundays, 150 hours


Can I pull it off?

How will you complete them on time?

If this were a school project and it was DUE by 12/21/2016, how would you make sure it gets completed?

Let's get in the mentality of making an EPIC Q4.

NO MORE EXCUSES -- if any task is worthy of more time, and that'll set you behind, then get a "good enough" draft version done and list the additional stuff / final draft that you want to do as a new objective to be completed at a future date.

Q4 is going to be about completing EVERY item on the list.  Even if they all look like SHIT and only work on certain PCs and need more work... get them DONE.

Any set backs, additional objectives, obstacles, etc. go on the list for getting done AFTER these 19 core objectives.

This will keep me pushing for a large size instead of using new obstacles as an excuse to fall behind.  As long as I can allow that to happen I'll NEVER be successful as an entrepreneur or get to the size I need to be at to succeed as a business owner.

By making it my goal to get a "first pass" version of every item done within a time period, I'll have a much better idea about how to set my goals for the final draft versions, since I'll have dabbled enough in everything to get a good sense of the scale of how much work lies ahead.

REPROGRAMMING MENTALITY: Incredible Instant Results

This title is confusing.  It's essentially referring to size 6+ paradigm of reprogramming every thought into the most objective and useful thought in the moment as they happen.
EX: When I first discovered that I could go 95% positive (back in '09-'11, whenever that was)

This morning I fully got back into the mentality of REPROGRAMMING EVERYTHING and to look at any and all feelings of RESISTANCE as a good feeling, not a bad one, that is literally the to opportunity to 1 up...

...and that the reason to be a 5 is because all these feelings can be looked at as good or bad, so why suffer all day by automatically and unconsciously choosing the bad feelings by default all day when you can simply get mindful and discipline yourself to choose the good feelings...

...and the reprogrammings themselves, like 'this isn't hard, this is just TRICKY'...

It's like an EASY size 6.  No problem sounding amazing on the phone.  Multitasking non stop.  Pushing the margins down as slim as they can get and doing so easily.

That's 2 hours now at size 6, conservatively estimated.  That's a huge jump from the size 4 I've had going on recently, and it's not because of more effort, it's because of a simple change in my understanding of things.

Q3 PTC Day 31

Today was a self-help / conceptual day.  Needed an hour to figure out why I was unhappy... and I figured out what was going so terribly wrong with my size and motivation at LEAF... somehow, I lost my grasp on the concept of reprogramming which I am RELIANT on for getting to size 5.

This is why it's important to actually review the large packet once a week.  Maybe time to make a fresh copy to bring home for Sunday reviews.  But maybe not... these are tricky concepts, and *actually reprogramming* trolls is very new to me, it was lost years ago and just recently discovered in the last 2-3 months... so not weird that I'd lose it.

And "Mental Mastery" is BRAND new, so if you don't think you're losing it, think again... you probably are.

Why Am I Here?

Happiness.  Derived from my sentient being maintaining majority and default control over my human being.

Because happiness comes from engagement in the things that create it.  Like killing it, loving what you do, winning, mastering the art, creating, etc.

It's no different from the joy you get when you "dial in" on a video game or when you "dial in" to rapid multitasking and jamming through a ton of super high quality calls and feel like you can handle anything badass style.

These are the kinds of feelings that make happiness.  Engagement, "enjoy".  And those come CONSISTENTLY when I follow my code of discipline, my predetermined choices.

What is Failing, why is the "wheel" stopping?

Once again, trolls have gone "off the radar" and even when caught, ARE NOT BEING REPROGRAMMED!!

You have to be very passionate about reprogramming.  You have to really, REALLY want it.  That's what drives you to push your limits until it's painful -- so you can create the pain that makes the trolls that  you can then re-program.

But if you're not even willing to re-program the basics, like nicotine, fear of calling, etc... or even call them trolls... then the wheel will stop, your size will shrink, and you will be unhappy.

You need to be writing down trolls, blog posting about them, expressing excitment and engagement in the reprograms / opportunities that replace them, and pursuing the deep neural pathway building of those new programmings.  Seriously.  If you're not 100% COMMITTED to writing them down and studying them, DO NOT ANSWER "YES" when asked in the morning, "can you actually reprogram the vast majority of trolls?", because that's what it takes to do it.

Mindfulness isn't particularly weak right now.  It's just being fueled by weakness.  Being mindful and a victim at the same time isn't going to get you anywhere.  You need to program much harder.  That's why you're stalling.

Remember the time you discovered reprogramming trolls?

Back in '09 or 2010 or whenever... when you FIRST saw the power of catching a troll and figuring out how to think of the SAME EXACT THING in a different way... and you put it to the test... that's when you first became positive 90% of the time, all your thoughts started being positive naturally, and you hit "size 6" for the first time while making video slides for Mastery.

It all happened very fast.  I realized every time I thought that my thought was either helping me or hurting me, and any thought that could be "non-helpful" was quickly turned on it's head and replaced with a "helpful" spin on the same theme.  And doing this every time wasn't just EASY, it was incredibly REWARDING.

Eventually, I lost it.  The effort illusion always creeps back in.  At the time, I took "vacations" that were the death of me.  I don't know what happened, but I do know this.

THIS IS THE RENAISSANCE.

And this is an idea that will be reborn permanently.  It's not going away like art and science of the roman ages to the dark ages.  It's going to boom into a whole new world, like the renaissance of the 1600s and 1700s.  This is the core fundamental root of how NLP is one of the big 3.  Active NLP.  NLP that says, get serious, get to pain, love the pain, find the troll, and reprogram the thought.

Q2 PTC Day 57

MONDAY = SUNDAY (Since it's Memorial Day Weekend)

12p - 9p.  I know, ran too late... but i took my vit a at 9am and I have been getting to sleep later and waking up earlier, so like, whatever.

THE VIDEO NEVER REALLY WORKED THAT GREAT.

Think about it.

The test was done to people who were already sold and it was done in an EMAIL format.

They probably skipped RIGHT OVER all the stuff they'd already seen on my website and went right to the juicy stuff.

Leading with the salesy stuff, especially in a video where its hard to skip to the meat, just leads to the thinking, "There's no steak here, just another sleep sales thingy."

Instead, deliever a sneak peak at the secret first.  Give them the steak.  Then, once they've had a bite and are thinking about more, sell them on how amazing the steak is.

And the beauty of that is they can go ahead and opt-in any time they are ready to eat the steak.  That's how it should be designed.

So, here's how the video is being re-structured on website (see it on google doc):
  1. The beginning will be like the UNDER 3 MIN version they can find on youtube.
  2. To learn more, get my free guide by giving your email.
  3. THEN SALES #1 HERE MOVED FROM BEFORE: If your tired of x, sick of y, z... then you NEED to hear about this breakthrough.
  4. It is my most valuable piece of work, it explains how to cure insomnia and includes 3 q's dr's cant ans...
  5. Even I didn't get it.  Even sleep experts dont get it.  Then I had an EPIPHANY.  And now its a works every time method.
  6. You're preventing your own sleep.  That's why nothing working for you.
  7. THEN SALES #2 HERE MOVED HERE: It's always been the same old thing... of course you do want... but you've tried so much, you dunno who or what to believe anymore.
  8. Fortunately, this "Dark Age" @ end.  There's been a new breakthrough in the insomnia world. --> to END OF VIDEO.

Pricing Thoughts

For the How to Cure Insomnia Video Series, I am thinking anywhere from $47 - $65 -- and saying this is discounted from $79.95 - 89.95.  I have testing to know it sells well in this range and the market is in this range.  70+ seems like too much -- ppl on the fence aren't going to pay it, if they do they'll want a refund once they see how short the content is.  under 39.95 i believe would devalue it to the point where a lot of people think this can't actually be any different than everything else, and i imagine just about anyone who would pay 20-40 for this will find a way to pay 40-60 for it.

Anyways, at the end of the day, it'll require price point testing.  $80-140 might be the hot spot for all I know, or it might end up getting 2% sales at 60 but 12% sales at 30.   I will need to test all these points for that reason, but to do that, I will need a lot of traffic.  So worry more about it then.

Mentality Work: ACTUALLY Doing It is all you are missing!


Your tools on the daily review, page 2 are FAR MORE THAN WHAT I NEED TO BE A 5.

SO LONG AS...

YOU ARE UNREASONABLE ABOUT CONSISTENTLY USING ALL OF THOSE TOOLS!!!!

If you actually FULLY EMBRACED AND UPHELD the goal of "Mental Mastery", you'd be a 5+.

If you actually FULLY EMBRACED AND UPHELD the goal of "Keep on top of the pulse of intensity" you'd be a 5+.

If you actually FULLY EMBRACED AND UPHELD the goal of "Kicking trolls whenever they arise", you'd be a 5+.

etc.

These tools are more than good enough.  You don't need any more info, you're not missing any secrets.  It comes down to your willingness to consistently uphold these tools throughout the day.  To treat all predetermined choices as your word, where you are unreasonable about following them, and to actually just do it consistently all day.  So that you are unreasonable about doing everything with the intensity game / mindfulness game because that's how you do anything.

Like actually having enough mental mastery to keep observing your mind several times an hour so you could keep in control of what kind of thoughts are occurring.

Like actually being on top of your sense of intensity to stay in the 1-up game 50 minutes at a time every hour.

Like actually having 90%+ positive thoughts because of how frequently you are catching and how effectively you replace them with more helpful thoughts, causing you to keep laughing at how much better the replacements are than the originals.

In the morning, you should ask "Am I serious enough, focused enough, and motivated enough to be a 5 today?"

If the answer is no, focus on turning a 3-3.5 day into a 4-4.5 day and talk about bringing the lower end of the average up so that my overall average is good.

If the answer is yes, focus on FULLY EMBRACING AND UPHOLDING those tools so that it's not "what you can pull off" but instead it's "Holding onto as much as you can, letting as little slip away as possible."  Because there's no reason you can't do all those things.  So you either have the willingness to do them or not.  Don't be reasonable.

You're either going for a 5, or your not.  Make a choice, don't just try to see what you can pull off.

Morning Ritual Addendum + CDH Reminder

Morning Ritual Addendum

"Wake and Vape" voids the ritual.  If you vape before your shower, you've failed the ritual.  

The ritual is:

1. Get out of bed without snoozing.
2. Drink half water pre-workout.
3. Start workout within 5 minutes of getting out of bed (5 min for water + music.)  Do not vape.
4. Drink half water post-workout and jump in shower ASAP.
Optional: Begin a meditation going into the shower.
5. Done.  Vaping now allowed.  Goal is to HAVE LEFT for work by 5:30 every day, but anything after the shower is currently "Post-Ritual" and up to you.

CDH Reminder

At 7:00PM, you must start winding down your mind.  CDH activities must stop immediately, thinking about work needs to go away.  7-8 is RE-TIME, 8-9 is BEDTIME.

Lifted Meds

March 24, 2018 I turn 30 years old.

By then I REALLY shouldn't need these any more.  That's kind of the "you've passed by now, or you've failed" point of this Personal Renaissance.

At that point it's time to re-evaluate life choices and what you're doing with your life.  And one of those choices is this medication.

Sean Walker says you'll be dead in 20 years if you continue to take it.

Like smoking, 2-3 years of this is really all the body should have to take.  This is serious.  Take it seriously, and don't forget.

WEEK 1 POST 1

Welcome to Q4, 2015 -- The 90 Day "Power Thinking" Challenge

715 - 815 tonight's hourly goal.  (Finished around 10:15, so... 2-3 hours I guess.)

Power Thoughts Box

Need 10 a day (non-word, however essential to being a 5-6 & hitting 70+ calls)
"Any time you pushed a little harder to lay a little more stone."

The POINT is to call forward thoughts that are helpful throughout the day, to ask myself "what thoughts would be helpful to me right now?" several times a day and apply them successfully.  These will often be "replacements", but don't need to be -- this box respects any increase in size.

Examples of what could go in the box:

-Catch and REPLACE (replace is the stone.)
-1up and actual achievement associated with size increase (for instance, calling w/out delay to 1up a regular 10 second delay.. and another when you start stacking the behavior to develop the "large size" habit of always calling without delay.)
-"Keeping it going" 1-up or extended replace, stacking size achievements.
-ANYTHING where stone was laid and size is increasing ACTIVELY (as long as you put in effort and overcame a restraint or troll and achieved some real objective as a result.)

Instead of focusing on just replacements, focusing on driving 10 "power thoughts" a day and keeping tabs on my size will set the focus on becoming more powerful, which is my goal.

 "Getting DEEP passed the 50", if you will, REQUIRES power thinking -- "catching trolls" only helps remove small size behaviors, it doesn't build large size behaviors and habits.

YOU NEED TO BUILD "LARGE SIZE" BEHAVIORS AND HABITS.

If you want to be able to have days where you are a 6, you need to get good at developing the behaviors of a 6.

I know you've struggled.  I know you've failed to implement the "stone building" well.  However, I KNOW this can be done, I've seen you mark 10+ and hit 5.75 RECENTLY doing exactly this.  I know you can do this 3 or 4 out of 5 days a week.  I know you will continue to fail, but I am interested in turning these failures into successes, more and more, ever increasing until I have grown in size.  And I will continue trying to be a 5 until I succeed... doesn't matter how many times I fail.

The Renaissance

What is the Renaissance?

It's not the renaissance of the old me, it's the renaissance of my spirit & purpose.

Was the renaissance of the 1400's - 1700's a rebirth of the Greek or Roman empires?

No, it was the rebirth of humanism, derived from the rediscovery of classical Greek philosophy, which manifested in art, architecture, politics, science and literature.

Thus, my renaissance isn't the rebirth of the failed Entrepreneur of the 2000's.  This blog is not called "The Return of the Addict".

The greeks brought to life the philosophy of the human spirit, what we were, and how the universe works.  Then, with the fall of the classical ages, came the dark ages, where reality was people looking out for themselves and kings caring more about their kingdoms than the human spirit.

My reality changed in 2011 & 2012 when my Mastery product failed to launch and I experienced the fall of my sponsorship.  The financial freedom I was riding on ran out, my Maslow's hierarchy became unstable, and my "classical ages" of learning and embracing entrepreneurship and business ownership in place of college and career fell permanently, never to rise again.

That person, that time, the days of my early twenties education are over and gone forever, like the ancient Greeks or the ancient Roman Empire.  Then came my dark ages, where I had to look out myself and just get by, I cared more about my survival and independence.  Just think of how much Firefly resonated with me.

However -- like the renaissance reborn the ideas of the ancients -- so too will this renaissance reborn the ideas of the original entrepreneur period.  Sleep Mastery shall return to life, How to Cure Insomnia will be born, articles, forum posts, and youtube videos will start circling again, sales letters and email lists will return.

This is the rebirth of branding & traffic, copy writing & conversion, emailing & a back-end list of leads.

With that, it is the rebirth of my greatest project in life.  My baby that I take care of, feed, strengthen, and make grow.  My purpose -- the reason I get up in the morning & the thing that captures my imagination and spirit at night.

Those long hours pacing back and forth, fantasizing about what I would do with seemingly limitless money and freedom -- THAT spirit -- THAT is what is being is reborn.  That is my personal renaissance.

I am going to reinvent.

First thing I want to do is get a better SEO site / blog style.  Today is about:
-Finding the best SEO premade site designs
-Choosing the design that best fits my vision for the reinvention.

Looks like now-a-days SEO has had several super updates to elimitate the old keyword optimization ways of the past, instead focusing on the intention behind the keyword and the quality of the site and it's content...

Great news, really, for someone who developed a top notch, market leading product like me... I can provide value for days, and now they are saying:

-No multi-site tactics -- stack all your quality on your home site.
-No doing TONS of pages on the site -- make only super high quality pages, the more of THOSE the better.
-No more spamming links or using keywords repetitively -- think linking from related pages, not anchor text (authority sites linking to you are still key, so this opens up the opportunity to spend more time developing campaigns to guest blog and add value to the big guns in exchange for a link to your website.)
-No more keyword spamming the H1 tags, no multi-H1s and etc -- keep word choice tightly related, but as human as possible.
-Think value and building the best, simplest, most satisfying web experience possible.

New Web Design for a Conversion-Effective Site that's SEO Friendly and Incredibly Satifying to Users (low bounce rate is a goal!)

So now I'm looking at Templates that reflect this.  I want one like yourleafnow.com ... that's the 2015 way to stand out and impress IMO.

As I did all this today, I have put requests on thevault's IRC to get back in, since I have been (fairly) removed from their site.  Looks like my account was shut down, as I have no automated way to re-activate.

Keep in mind, you are a trained account executive.  You can, and will, get back in.  This is the place to start for all Internet Marketing 2015 resources.  Just like you can get the attention of the big guns on the web in the insomnia field.

In Conclusion

Another big day for the renaissance and "doing both".  

I found out today I can't be too rigid with my goal of having wordpress done on AWS -- I need to select a SEO friendly website style/template first and then figure out how to implement it.

On the other hand, I've got a design in mind, and I have a source for templates, so now it's just about exploring that.

My goal for the rest of the week is:
1. Select a website template / code.
2. Begin implementing it.

By the end of next week, I want howtofixinsomnia.com to have all the framework complete, just waiting for me to color in the content.

The Renaissance Challenge, Day 1

Week 1, take 2!

It's good that I had "week 1" in December as that inspired this challenge, but at the same time it was the whole "failure to plan = plan to fail" thing... no 90 dc was active during that time.

Today, that has changed with The Renaissance Challenge: Q1 2015.

"The Renaissance of the Entrepreneur"

It's a fitting title.  My history here has parallels with the real history of organized advanced civilization: There was ROME, then it fell and there were dark ages, then there was a re-birth of advanced civilization and the modern era of science and art began.

With my business, there were the early days that laid all the foundation I needed, but at the same time did little to really make me much money.  It's like how Rome was advanced, but their science is nothing compared to today's.  Then my financial backing fell apart and I dropped the business for 3 years... a long, dark age of no progression.

Now, I hope to restart the business and use my new hustle skills and matured mental framework to handle this challenge on a far more advanced level.

As far as being an entrepreneur goes, this is a renaissance.

So it's a clear intent, and therefore I feel it's a good name.

Where do we go from here?

From the last "week 1":

"GOALS:
  • Have an AWS website (not natural cures / how to cure insomnia yet... just A site.)
  • Understand what will be needed to port over:
    -Domain redirecting?
    -Wordpress / Site code setup on new server?  Is it just copy and paste?
    -What else, if anything, do I need to do to get everything operating on AWS?
  • Answer these questions:
    -Port... or reinvent?
    -Should I start a new SEO campaign centered around "How to Cure Insomnia."?
    -Do I do both -- does natural cures still have enough value to keep alive after being dead nearly a year?
    -Do I still need the links, data, etc?  How does Google Analytics play into all this?"
These will be the goals of this week.

Also, here are the hourly guidelines for this first Renaissance challenge.

Week 1:

-3 hours at home, so 30 minutes on day 1, tomorrow I will pay for AWS training (just not worth the time to try and track down other training on this right now) and I expect it will take at least 1.5 hours, leaving 1 hour left for thursday to setup a mock website and answer the questions above.

Week 2:

-4 hours: 1 hour per day, Monday through Thursday.

Week 3:

-5 hours, 1 hour per day, Sunday through Thursday.

...12 weeks, so add one hour per week up until week 9, at which point get a steady 10 hours per week until the end of the challenge.

Then take a week to relax -- go easy at LEAF and don't work on the business... so I'm clearly separating my 90 DCs.  Week 2 of April you can start Q2 2015, and instead of moving everything over just have the 90 DC actually be 83 days... there is seriously no reason to nit pick, as there is no way to have 4 90 DCs and time off without doing it this way anyways.

Final Comments

I expect this whole year to be part of the renaissance.  If this challenge fails, just make Q2 "renaissance 90dc part 2".  I expect to do this anyways.  I want to push harder and harder this year to really bring this business back to life, and in doing so I expect to start making real money on both fronts.

The biggest wins will be proving I can do both and growing mentally strong.  It's like deciding one year you are going to start lifting weights every day as much as possible to become physically strong.  I am deciding to start really flexing my mind to become mentally strong.

Let's make this year a happier, more fruitful year than 2014 and really get a running start down the path of millionaire by 2020.

Starting Point, after website and funnel re-established

Organic web marketing and backlinks:

I got 1% done.

I drove enough links and made enough of a dent in the internet with valuable links and traffic flows created to achieve about 1%.  I spent like 3 days posting on places and driving traffic organically.

I needed to spend about 300 days to maximize that avenue.

I achieved 1%.

I needed to then go for 2%.  Then go for 5%, then 10%.  See a real piece of the pie missing.  Then grow that piece to 20%.  Then go for half the pie.  Then just keep it going until it was the whole pie.

This is a good starting place to pick back up once I've got the websites and funnel re-established.

I need to have a habit of doing like 30 minutes of this per day at least 3 days a week.

Really focused on watching this chunk grow.  Baby steps -- after a few weeks I need to feel like I've taken the beach... then start feeling like I've claimed a real chunk of the web... then start feeling like I'm all over the place and have really established a strong presence... and then become a common sight for any insomniac looking for discussions about insomnia online.  Like the underground, household name in "how to cure insomnia."

Given the success of that youtube video, and the better "call to action" behind that phrase, it might be a better, new name for the base of operations that everything points back to.  "Natural Cures for Insomnia" is nice and easy keyword wise, but is a weak call to action.  It's like Don Draper explaining he cut the alternative option out of the pitch because going in with 2 options is weak.  

There's a lot more strength in the term, "how to cure it".  It's like saying -- welcome to the website on how to cure insomnia.  This is "the" one.  You've finally found it.  Better save the address... you're going to be wanting back here... soon.

It Is Time. You Are Ready.

To get better (or BIGGER) you need a challenge that pushes your limits.

It's valuable to consider your biggest goal to live outside your comfort zone.  To make that happen, you need to face circumstances that demand it regularly.

Examples:

  • Up against Brian in a Blitz?  Suddenly my calls per hour have doubled or even tripled.
  • Best in your clan at SC, but still suck?  You're playing against noobs in a noob clan.
The theory behind becoming a consistant 5-6 size is you must be that big to handle the challenges of "both" and the challenges of growing a business.

Without any of those challenges, you're living in a field of inspiration that seriously lacks ACTION.

ACTION is what makes change.  

It's like raising the blinds in poker -- it forces that action, and puts you in more situations where you have to rely on reading abilities and not just stacking odds.

Without the challenge of BOTH, you'll never be able to achieve the goal of "Become a 5-6 and do BOTH."

Right now you're "become a 5-6 and do both, but do both later, maybe with a lot of money and just get an easier job and be a 4-5 and kind of handle them individually"

That old goal -- one that I've been preaching is wrong for the last 90 days -- is still very alive and "go to" in your mind.

Deep down, you just want to get the money together, buy a big rocket, strap it to the back of the plane and hope it flies.

That's not how businesses are built.  That's not how you get a plane off the ground.

You CAN'T work at petco and be building a business on the side, because you wont be faced with challenges all day that constantly put you to the test like LEAF.

(Leaf is like: cold call FASTER GO GO, now close this deal, get this paperwork done, COLD CALL GO GO, get this approved, SHIT GOTTA COLD CALL AGAIN FUCK IM BEHIND)

LEAF trains hustle all day.  Compared to LEAF, getting an extra hour in on my business is too easy, and it's not a hard challenge to take on.  It'll be easy to get going most days if I really want it.  I won't feel like I'm hustling enough every time, and that'll push me to get even bigger, creating a cycle of growth.

Petco trains victim behavior all day.  Everything about it degrades me, is slower, is mundane standard work with bottom barrel people surrounding me... going home and building my business compared to that is a huge challenge every time and I'm not going to feel up to the challenge, so just getting myself to do it only happens here and there and then I spend that time acting more like a victim than a hustler.

As long as your actions don't reflect your intentions, nothing is going to change.  Action is much stronger than inspiration, and it's the only way you actually grow.

It's not "get bigger first, then build a business".  That's like going to the gym every day to prepare to be a good construction worker.  It's not nearly as effective as actually building shit every day... that's how you get there.

It is time to actually do BOTH, so that there's a new challenge I am tested against, and new daily objectives and failures to overcome.

Right now, I am trying to overcome being a 4 and wanting to be a 5 every day.  But since I'm not actually building a business and I'm not even trying to focus on more than one thing, it doesn't mean much.

When you fail it's like, well, yeah I was small but I found 3 warms and got an app in, great day.  

Does that really move you closer to having your own business?  Or does getting more money in the bank just lead to more "failure of success"?

So I will begin.  It is time.  BABY STEPS for sure... but just SOMETHING to start.  

15 minutes, as soon as I get home, Tuesday - Thursday this week.  That's less than 1 hour for the week.  

Objective: Get an amazon-based website setup so that I am ready to port over.  Also check other's experience with web hosting through them, if necessary, just upgrade the gator.

Good analogy here is being in the food chain (first half) and not being in the food chain (second half.)

SO LONG AS YOU ARE RELIANT ON A JOB OR CAREER PATH, YOU AREN'T REALLY CONTROLLING SHIT AND WILL NEVER BE OVER 50% HAPPY IN LIFE, NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE JOB GETS, NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE.

You must have a sense of CONTROL OVER YOUR DESTINY to feel wholesome deep down.

That is who I am as a person.  Whether it was always there, or it's just who I became, there is no going back.

If I don't do BOTH, I will never feel CONTROL, because I'm NOT DOING SHIT to really be in control... I'm just collecting money to be able to float for a while should the ship sink.  Just widening the safety net.

THE MORE YOU WORK ON BOTH, THE MORE CONTROL YOU WILL FEEL, AND THE HAPPIER YOU WILL BECOME.

It will feel like you're WAKING UP.  Like it's just been the lonely, cold warrior shell for the last 3 years and my inner spirit has finally returned, and I feel filled with guts and glory and life again.

No guts, no glory.  Do both.  Do whatever it takes.  Find yourself once again.

Try to remember what it felt like back when you were crazy and knew what life you really wanted and were excited to learn every trick in the book.

Except now you know all the tricks.  It's like Luke from Episode 5, leaving yoda... now it's been years later and it's episode 6 back in Degoba, and yoda is like, "No more training need you.  Vader.  You must defeat Vader.  Only then will your training be complete."

In my world, Vader is the corporate ladder.

And to complete my training, I must become free -- I must be making enough money on the side where I can choose to do whatever I want.  It's not about telling LEAF to f* off... it's about knowing that if I did, it would only help me along the path (right now, it'd add a major detour to my path.)
